MICRODERMABRASION
Microdermabrasion treatments provide deep exfoliation of your skin’s complexion by stimulating collagen and elastin formation, effectively promoting the growth of healthy new skin cells. The gentle vacuum suction can improve the appearance of wrinkles, skin texture and colour by polishing the top layer of skin (the epidermis).
At Milton Laser and Anti-Aging Clinic we use the Pristine Microdermabrasion system which uses densely packed real diamonds to gently remove top layers of the epidermis while its adjustable vacuum action stimulates collagen and elastin production in the dermis for improved blood flow, and firmer, healthier looking skin. Because the treatment uses real diamonds it is also completely hypoallergenic for a more comfortable experience.
Microdermabrasion can also be used to jump start your skin care regimen, as a stand-alone treatment or in combination with other treatments such as Laser Genesis, Photo Rejuvenation and Chemical Peels.
Is it an effective treatment for all skin types?
Microderabrasion effectively and safely treats and minimizes a wide range of skin conditions including sensitive skin. It is an excellent progressive treatment for acne, aging skin, discoloured and congested skin, fine lines and wrinkles, blackheads, blemish scars, acne scars and cellulite stretch marks.
What happens after my treatment?
After the first microdermbrasion treatment, the complexion may have a pink glow, which typically fades after a day. Pinkness may last slightly longer after more aggressive microdermabrasion treatment. The skin may feel as though it was in the sun or wind burned, but the sensation should subside fairly quickly.
How many treatments do I need?
Most patients require more than one microdermabrasion treatment.
To achieve the most beneficial results, sessions are generally performed two - three weeks apart, and about five to twelve treatments are typically necessary.
How soon will I see results?
You will notice an immediate improvement after your first treatment. Your skin will have a fresh pink glow, smoother texture and appearance. Improvements continue throughout your treatment program.
